Weather Report Poem: charcoal and ink

Winter

Why do you never stay?

You only linger

Like the dust of charcoal on paper

Before it’s wiped away

Why are you so merciless?

Your storms plow through my city

Leaving lasting impressions

Like dark streaks of charcoal

Black as the darkest of nights

When can I see you again?

The seasons will change

Yet I stay the same

Awaiting

Like ink drying on the surface

Always there

Always there
