I Still See You

The snow is raining down like blurry, white bullets when I see you again

The sky is a blinding white, the chill of the winter biting and ruthless

Yet there you are

Standing as though the weather’s brutality is nothing

Shrugging your shoulders as if it’s a mere inconvenience

You outstretch your hand and immediately the snowflakes collect upon your palm

In such a blizzard I can’t make out if you’re beckoning me over or not

I squint, tears collecting upon my dark lashes

I open my mouth, to do what? I don’t know

You soon drop your hand to your side, lifeless, and turn away as I press myself against the glass

Watching you go, go

Go until your figure is nothing but a dark spec

Go until there is not one thing left of you but the tracks in the snow
